Why Project Arctos?

Torpor_bear.png

Did you know bears don’t only hibernate in bad conditions? When conditions are colder and there’s less food available they undergo “torpor”, an involuntary slower metabolic rate which helps them save energy in order to survive.

Arctos is Greek for “bear” (the animal). Project Arctos aims to create an environment where torpor is no longer triggered, where there are conditions and “food” for thriving so those without a place in the prevailing culture may flourish and not fall into a deeper sleep.
